PEPE is an Ethereum-based cryptocurrency inspired by the Pepe the Frog internet meme, created by Matt Furie. The project aims to ride on the wave of meme coins, like Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, and as of this writing, Pepe has joined these meme coins in the rarefied field of meme coins to hit the $1 billion market capitalization.
PEPE is deflationary and employs a burning mechanism whereby a portion of the tokens is burned after each transaction. The burning of or destruction of tokens is irreversible which reduces the total supply over time and aims to maintain the scarcity of the PEPE token.
PEPE employs a redistribution system where a portion of every transaction gets distributed to existing token holders. This rewards long-term stakers and incentivises investors to hold PEPE for longer periods. PEPE also implements a no-tax policy whereby it does not impose taxes or fees on transactions or activities on its network.
