Intro
Adventure Gold (AGLD) is a project in the cryptocurrency space, launched on September 2, 2021. The platform was developed in collaboration with the Loot Project, aiming to introduce a novel way for users to interact with non-fungible tokens (NFTs) within gaming worlds. AGLD serves as the native token for this ecosystem, created under the Ethereum-based ERC-20 standard. The initiative was spearheaded by Will Papper, who is also a co-founder of the Syndicate Protocol, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). As the founder, Will Papper’s venture into this project was sparked by Vitalik Buterin's support, who recommended others to contribute to it. Motivated by Buterin's tweet, Papper developed and launched Adventure Gold (AGLD) within four hours from a modest airport in Oregon, just a day after the endorsement. In addition to founding Adventure Gold, Papper is also a co-founder of Syndicate DAO, a decentralized platform for investment. The Loot Project, conceptualized by Dom Hofmann, co-founder of Vine and Byte, plays a pivotal role in the foundation of the AGLD ecosystem. It offers digital role-playing game items as NFTs, called "loot bags," which contain collections of unique items usable within specific shared video game spaces. These NFTs were either sold or distributed for free, with owners required only to cover the transaction fees for the minting process. Each owner of a Loot Project NFT was entitled to claim 10,000 AGLD tokens for free, which helped to establish a community around the project and added perceived value to the AGLD tokens. Adventure Gold and the Loot Project reflect a community-driven approach to developing the so-called "Lootverse," a hub for decentralized tales and ventures anchored in its unique text-based NFTs. The overarching vision includes the creation of community-driven Autonomous Worlds, facilitated by the AGLD token and supported by the Loot Chain, a specialized layer-2 blockchain designed for the Lootverse
