Intro

QuickSwap (QUICK) is a decentralized exchange (DEX) built on the Polygon network, designed to enable fast, low-cost transactions for ERC-20 token swaps. As a Layer 2 solution for Ethereum, QuickSwap allows users to perform trades and swaps with near-zero gas fees, an advantage over traditional Ethereum-based exchanges.

QuickSwap employs an Automated Market Maker (AMM) model, which utilizes liquidity pools instead of traditional order books to facilitate asset swaps, ensuring continuous liquidity and minimal slippage for traders. The platform's liquidity mining and yield farming mechanisms incentivize users to participate as liquidity providers, contributing to the DEX’s overall liquidity and trading volume.

The AMM model on QuickSwap determines asset prices using a constant product formula (x * y = k), where "x" and "y" represent the reserves of two tokens in a liquidity pool, and "k" is a constant. When a trade is executed, the ratio of tokens in the pool changes, which in turn adjusts the price, allowing for instantaneous trades without the need for matching buy or sell orders. Users can contribute to these liquidity pools by depositing pairs of tokens, and in return, they receive liquidity provider (LP) tokens, which represent their share of the pool. These LP tokens can be redeemed for the original assets or used in yield farming to earn additional rewards.

QUICK, the native token of the platform, launched in February 2021 as an ERC-20 token. QUICK holders can propose and vote on changes to the platform, such as new features, protocol upgrades, or adjustments to fee structures. Approximately 90% of the total QUICK supply is allocated to liquidity mining incentives, which rewards liquidity providers and helps bootstrap the platform’s growth. The total supply of QUICK is capped at 1 million tokens, with a portion also allocated for community incentives and ecosystem development.

The integration of QuickSwap on the Polygon network allows users to trade ERC-20 tokens at much lower fees and faster speeds compared to Ethereum mainnet-based DEXs. This not only reduces the barrier to entry for new users but also makes decentralized trading more accessible to the general crypto community. QuickSwap's non-custodial nature means users retain control over their assets, trading directly from their wallets without needing to deposit tokens onto the exchange, enhancing security and user control.
